17th August 2020 - Another Rainy Day and a trip to Llanelli

Thought for the day :"If you want to fail and you succeed. Did you then fail or did you succeed?"

Office of National Statistics

Had a very nice socially distanced (mainly - except when the Birthday Girl needed help down the steps - hips not alcohol!) with our new neighbours at their riverside retreat.
Shows that we can get to the river if we try hard enough...
All in all we are getting a lovely welcome from our immediate neighbours which is lovely.

Trip to Llanelli today mainly to start the clear up for 41 so that Nancy and Friends can use it as a holiday base. Managed to clear a couple of rooms - (clear no clean)  to give her a start ...

Also got a trailer full of trees and plants to come to a new home...

Changed my mobile Phone to EE from 02 so hoping that I get signals soon and can use a mobile phone again. Still very shoddy service from Tesco - waited an age to get through, managed to get the unlock code though I haven't found it yet in my email or text message - and have to phone again to apply the discounts that have been agreed.

Rained a lot today - though in fairness it was hot and dry when we were loading the van - typical !

But ground fairly drenched here in FW...

And the river is a bit up...

Also got some of my masonic gear brought to the new house

Still a lot to go !

Did a bit of adulting - this place is rubbing off on me!
Bothy would not start so decided to get the battery charger. Bonnet would not open (Hood for american friends)  Connector had jumped out of the handle. No tools. No way would it go back in !!
Use of phone to act as torch ( not really done that before but I had seen it done) identified that the lever mechanism could be removed form the wall of the van - then I could re-connect and then screw it back to the wall - and the bonnet opened! I know !!! it is not much - but with the sweat pouring over my eyes and my glasses falling off and trying to see what I was doing - I was proud of myself!

And if we could not move the Bothy then the trip was in vain as all the trees were not going to be taken through the house!

So Job Done - I will make a mechanic yet .. maybe !  In an infinite universe ...

No 41 Chickens managed to get out from their enclosure today. May be at fault as I fed them all this morning and may not have shut the gate the way I was meant to ...   However - means that they have had a whole day socialising. Shut up separately for the night - but we will clear the last Chicken House and see what happens from tomorrow.

Looks like rain again tomorrow so will visit Vic as we have left him with only a phone call for two days. I will call in the afternoon tomorrow ...

And so - another long day - and we have bottled the Chateau 41 Zinfandel and I must say it is very palatable .. so ..

Cheers!
