Thought for the day :"Thieves broke into my neighbours garden yesterday and stole all his astro turf. I saw him this morning looking forlorn."

It was clear during the last week working and the Concert night that we need more room behind the bar and a re-organisation of what we are doing in the area.

I hadn't really changed anything in the last three years so it was not a surprise that there was too little room and no organisation  

Change of the jug holders for the kegs allowing storage of the coke and lemonade

Clear access to the fridge and space for the till 

Access to the wine rack 

Also now, it is possible to reach all the glasses on the shelves 

A good day's work

30th May 2026 - Saturday and back to Normalcy

Thought for the day :"My friend asked if I wanted a nap? I said that sounds good and now he has me breaking flint rocks with an antler!"

Walking the dog and we surprise a cat up a tree.. Must be alright as it had gone when we came back

29th May 2026 - And Breathe - Signs back in - too hot

Thought for the day :"I Went to see the worst faith healer ever last night. He was so bad, a bloke in a wheelchair got up and walked out..."

We decided to run the Credu Charity on to the concert evening so we will be able to give a cheque for £200 in total plus Gift Aid (£50) 

Very Hot - but the band moved on so I brought all the signs in...    And Breathe

So the band Arrived late last night - so we get a chance to visit a few places in the day before setting up for the concert

27th May 2026 - And Storms

Thought for the day :"I used to work full time in a home for cats. But I had to leave because they cut meowers down."

Major Storms again today  - weather is being strange - hoping for dry by  tomorrow 

But as we prepare for guests again a quick walk around the gardens 

Springs are very full of weed at the moment 

Susie spending a lot of time trying to clear  it 

We have problems with the lighting - seems to be shorting a lot 

May be a problem with the Artic Blue cables strung in the air

Toby checks it out with me  

Chris has done a great job on clearing the bed 

This poor bird may be suffering from heat stroke - have hydrated it and hoping it will recover (edit - it did) 

Lawns cut ready for the concert tomorrow 

Susie's Lupin - yes this is ONE plant !!

But the bed is full with fox gloves as well  - look at the size of them

22nd May 2026 - And the Tavern is Open

We are apparently having the first major heat wave of 2026 - the hottest day in England!

And the Crimson Moon is open .. and it rained !

Not as busy as expected , but a good evening enjoyed by all. Guitar and the Sax.. James & Ffion Dafis-Clode gave a lovely set for an hour.  

Generally a good evening - certainly not a stressful one on this occasion
