15 July 2020 - 1 Day to go - Loading the Trailer

Thought for the day:"Tetris teaches you that if you fit in you will disappear"

So, it stayed dry today which was good as it was day one to start loading the trailer. Now good as I am, I failed to get everything that we wanted in the first trip in the trailer ...   but was close.

A few photos of the day...

So, this was the main task, get this lot into the trailer as the first pass.
Mainly to get the Welsh Dresser, kitchen table, and chairs, the glass cabinet, the drawers for the kitchen the two black arm chairs and stools, the carpets and rugs, the Dyson and the loo brush (all still in their packaging), and then the boxes of "essentials" that need to go - other than the fine china which will be going int he car on the back seat...

 Another view of the task...

Meanwhile in the Warehouse, the first record of  what is left so that I can see some progress over time...

By the door..  Garden equipment and a sewing machine to get rid of...

Garden equipment - catering equipment - what are we going to do with that? and games and toys to be examined by family before disposal

Mainly Bric a Brac for checking before disposal and some spare wet suits..

The main store furnishing and sorted Storage ..

Camping, marquees, tentage

More tentage and camping "stuff"

And a trailer on the road...

 And so it starts ...

 And done...

Well packed and just room for the mattress by the door..

hmm - better change the number plate !!

And Breathe.....

14th July 2020 - A little rant - 2 Days to go

Thought for the day :"Fortune teller robes only come in one size. Medium..."

Just saying...  2 Days

I have been quiet on the Political / Corona front recently. Mainly because there have been other things to say. But - Happy Tuesday - here we go ..

Have to do it ...

So, let's start with masks. England now decides that everyone should wear a mask in shops as well as public transport. As one commentator pointed out - mandating wearing a mask 3 months into a Pandemic is like insisting you wear a condom in the 2nd trimester...

But some will object..
Of course - the President finally wore a mask for a photo shoot in a military hospital so everyone could see him walking down a corridor with his military colleagues all in matching uniform masks..  One wonders if this was because he feared that wearing a mask suggests weakness and therefore if all the highest ranking military advisors wear the same then he is being a "leader" ?

or....
Now, get your bingo cards out and see if you got Fifi the Llama for the month of July. Apparently Llamas have very simple antibodies and they are easy to work on in the laboratory and so Fifi and her friends may be able to provide an Antibody solution which will assist those with the virus and may helop those who have not caught it yet ...

And then we have opening the schools ...Everyone back in September regardless and fines for those who fail to send their children back...
And lets look at some statistics for why even 1% mortality cans till cripple a nation. For USA you can read any country...

and so says the good book...

and to sum it all up ...

Back to the world of Vollsanger and the move.... rant over...

We hit No 80 and back to the Scottish Songs...   Ally Bally Bee...

Have a good day...

Cheers

13th July 2020 - 3 Days and Counting

Thought for the day :"The first rule of “condescending club” is really kinda complex and I don’t think you’d understand it even if I explained it to you !"

Glad we are not moving today - it is raining - we will wait until Thursday !

Caught up a day on the Count-down after I worked out that we should move on Zero and not One

And in today's education we discover what a Contronym is ...

And in a musical explanation ...

And so the decision is made that the over 75's will no longer get a free BBC TV Licence.

And in Shut-Down Mode...  we come to number 79 - The Wild Rover

Better get on wit some packing I suppose

Cheers !

Sunny Sunday and 5 days ......

And Brexit still gives and gives...

And as the gymns and places of entertainment start to open - it is good to get your warning signs right...

Pictures of the house are going down well on Facebook and Instagram.. Seems as though they meet with general approval - not that we are much interested in any other opinions!

And so - Shut-Down Serenade No 78 - another Irish Favourite - Whisky in the Jar...

Quick trip to the Warehouse today to pick up some bits and pieces... Will start loading the trailer properly in the week. Plan is to have it ready to go Wednesday Night outside the house and then only the mattress needs to go in on Thursday before leaving....

Ho Hum ..

Saturday 11 July 2020

11th July 2020 - First View of our New House

Thought for the day :"My love of ironing is decreasing."

As Trump pops off to Florida where the corona cases are going through the roof - let us pause for a second to contemplate...

And so, the main task of today was to visit the new house and do some measurements and the weather was kind.... and the sun was shining. We now have a set of keys thought we cannot get in until Thursday as the current occupants cannot get their removal until Tuesday / Wednesday.

As you walk through the gate

up to the front door - which is (of course) at the back !

The top cock for the water  1/2 mile away on the main road. (Susie says I exaggerate - I walked it and it was at least that far!)

Look back up to the house

The Paddock with peacocks and chickens and soon to have ducks..

 The drinking water spring...

 The Tavern
 The River
The Green House..

All Facebook links here

And so we get to number 77 - Killiekrankie

Cheers !
