Thought for the day:"During this long period of shut-down, I’m becoming quite concerned about the well-being of my plants. The Fuchsia looks very uncertain......"

So, we are 6 months into the year, and a roller coaster it has been. 101 days of shut-down.
January - Vic decides that he might want to come to wales after all. Collect him and find flat for him, and move him in. Change addresses and housing benefits, social care. Consider selling house. Find a Glamping site near Carmarthen. View same. Consider Glamping business. Launch crowd-funding style group and pages. Empty house and return. House put onto the market. Offer next day - 31st January 2020!
February - Crimson Moon Getaway week. Put competitive offer in on Farm. Farm withdraws from market. Disappointment. View other properties. Birthday. Visit Ffynnon Wen on Birthday. Decide to make offer on the spot. Do so. Start downsizing. Start sorting 1,350 boxes of accumulated "stuff".
Arrange Trust Fund and commence contract with solicitors for Ffynnon Wen.
March - Into Lock-down. Steady progress on store clearing. Isolating. Chasing house sales. Sorted the tupperware.
April - Still in Lock-down. No progress on house sale. Our Solicitor Furloughed. Team check details and find that there is a confusion between solicitors. Questions answered on 4th March were not acknowledged and no-one getting the file out to check. Files updated.
Find Gwalia falt for Vic with better services, care staff available and 24 hour monitoring, with dementia unit for the future. Can't progress due to shut-down. Arranging viewing once permitted. Book a flat with a balcony for him
May - Disaster. Finally establish that buyer has no longer got all the finances. Is now dependent upon sale of another property and his buyer has backed out as problems getting mortgage due to Virus. House goes back onto the Market. Ffynnon Wen goes back on the market. Not a good start to the month. Confirm with builder that he has no prospect of early settlement.
June - England eases restrictions and allows viewing of premises. 4 viewers. 2 offers but not huigh enough to make purchase affordable. Third Offer comes in at £405K still 20K below my lower asking price but affordable - I hope! If not then I will have to take a loan. Agree to proceed. Dependent upon mortgage for renovations but otherwise cash available. Make contact with buyers. Anxious to proceed. Lots of legal shenanigans but proceeds to agreement of sale. Solicitors still on furlough but chasing them every day this time and in contact with buyers and thereby their solicitors.
Dump opens - but only pre-book and once a month!
Get date for exchange and completion as Friday 3rd July!!! Our solicitors for purchase agree date for Ffynnon Wen as Monday 6th July. That is also to be the date that the 5 mile travel restriction will be lifted, and also some other minor restrictions. Also will be the date that we may be able to travel to view flat for Vic. July 14th also date on which I have to put a month's notice of vacating the flat.
Welcome to July !!! White rabbits!!

Other news is of course continuing...
While for no reason at all I thought this medical dictionary was quite funny.
Shut-Down Serenades gets to no 67 - Time Freeze...
Seems that the re-cycle groups are open again so an opportunity to clear some stuff from the warehouse today... Progress at last...
Meanwhile, a note from the solicitors this morning that they will be charging me an addition £37 plus VAT for sending me my money by transfer. The alternative is to have a cheque through the post. Seems that they keep having ways to find an extra charge. Not going with them again!! I seem to have done all the work anyway ...
And so - another day ...
Cheers !
