13th August 2020 - Clearing the flat and Giving the keys back

Thought for the day:"Discovered an Ant that could not speak – it was a mutant"

Family heading home today so a few days of peace and quiet before the inevitable return ....   don't get me wrong - we love having them all here but a few days on our own is also welcome. We certainly could not have achieved what we have managed in the time!!

So today we decided to leave the trailer and head off to Burry Port for the last time..
Stopping in B & Q for some polyfilla (we had some but forgot to bring it for the picture hook holes) and found that they had a delivery of the multi-surface furniture paint - so we can get the bed-side tables painted. Win no 1!

Off to the flat and as we forgot the mop it was a case of hands and knees to scrub the floor. Well, years of Char Ladies called Mrs Mop have been doing exactly the same...   Walls cleared - Carpets hoovered - skirting boards scrubbed. Hoping we qualify to get the deposits back. Job No 2

Off to Gorseinon to hand the keys in. No entry without appointment but they accepted the details and allowed the keys to be popped through the letter box. Job Done...  no more Trips to Burry Port!

Tesco for petrol and some salad for the evening meal - still so hot and clammy we really did not fancy anything large for an evening meal.

Back to 41 and a bit of fishing to try to capture the last of the fishes in the pond. We are getting ether slowly. a newt was popped into the tank as well. Managed to bag three myself with one sweep of the net - 3 others escapes and then they just played with me as they teased me and ran away ...  Next Time !!  Next Time!

Garden in 41 is now a serious jungle. Will require major action before we sell...
Picked up the historical laboratory equipment which is to be displayed on the shelf above the stairs. Will unpack tomorrow!

Ducks are settling in and have taken over Cedric's Manor - but we have managed to get them to find a new place to settle at night. Another few days and we can let them all mingle....

Another evening on the veranda and as we come into the sitting room late it is still very warm.

Just had a panic as the pump on the power shower seems to be stuck on - luckily the previous keeper was meticulous in his labeling and at least we knew which to switch off...

Will try to find the result from last owners tomorrow

And so - Cheers !
