19th July 2022 - Forest Fires

Thought for the day :"When life gives you melons – you are probably dyslexic"

Yay !! Susie now Covid Free and I am getting a little more energy back though I may have slightly overdone it today.

Finished the ornate bridge and it is a little flimsy for what we wanted but will look at it again tomorrow - certainly holds my weight so should be fine but I think it is a little expensive for the size and quality. May have to rethink the second bridge over the stream to the Island.

Looks good though!!

IN sadder news, we have had another arson attack on the forest next to us.
It seems that ion June 12th some one/or more  broke into the cabin int he forest above us and did a lot of damage - possibly with an axe or similar. Police called and padlocks put onto the property (there had been none before) . Sadly last Saturday someone broke into the cabin and then torched it - possibility that trail of fuel was laid to start it according to the Fire Brigade.

It is devastating - apparently such a lovely cabin with veranda and balcony and  in lovely condition.

A baby belling cooker taken out of the cabin and into the field
and attacked with what looks like an axe.
A lot of effort has been used to strike this

The burned out cabin

this was a two storey building
raised on telegraph poles

Pathway used as access / egress

Detroyed and sadly not insured

Egress

Area where we hope the arsonist(s) will attend

First camera set

View form camera I hope

Blocked off the main access

second camera

view from camera 2

Will check the cameras tomorrow and hope that we get some pictures..

In other news -

Slightly cooler this evening - so Susie managed to water her main plants - though it rained a little today it was not enough !!

I booked the beer for the weekend and booked a year of public liability insurance from Protectivity
£149 for up to 15 events each to last up to 3 days - our first event cot £49 for the one so I think it is reasonable as an investment.

ASDA tomorrow to get the rest of the produce and see who we get to come and visit ..

Cheers !
