Thought for the day :"I have something that cannot be forklifted. It is unpalletable"
So up early and a road trip to Llanelli to pick up some patio slabs - 10 round and 10 square, witha view to using them as a ground base for the duck house...
Got to Llanelli and found that they would be too small but they were nice and a reasonable price so I bought them anyway ...
Came back via a visit to Malcolm Silcox - still doing well - will be 90 years old on the 31st July .. In fine fettle though he has now resigned from Masonry and Rotary due to ill health - a triple by-pass that did not work as well as he wished...
Popped via the old New Road house - no real progress on the house that I can see - looks sad really with rubble outside the front and windows empty. Hoped that it might have had a bit of a redress by now... Will look again in a year probably.
Popped in on Vicky Madigan, Chris still in hospital with a slight complication - but should be out in a day or so ... so all well ..
Popped into Jewson's and bought 10 patio slabs at the right size for only a little more than the decorative ones - but these will cover the ground properly - and are bloomin' heavy !!!
By the time I got home - my bridge had arrived for the yurt path to the island - but it was too hot to try to sort out - though I started putting it together before dinner when it got a little cooler. Will finish tomorrow.
Spent some time at the desktop - ordered the beer for the weekend
Found an annual insurance for the events that was reasonable - £149 for the year when the last 5 day event cost £45 so will work out cheaper for the same cover.
Managed to step on my tablet and break the screen - so after only two month use - had to order another one - ho hum - but we do use it every day. Especially now for Duolingo - in which Susie is doing exceptionally well - very proud of her... Will get her up to full speed for Germany and Austria next year ..
Me ? I am looking at two weeks to Germany !! Hoping for no more cancellations and changes in the route.
Was a blazing day - was fairly cook in the Landie but the rets of the time we have spent in the house with the doors shut - some advantages in living in a three hundred year old house. Stayed pretty cool thought we did enlist the use of an electric fan and a bowl of cold water ...
So - no photos from me today ....
Have a thought for the day instead...
Cheers !
