10th April 2021 - Fencing, Shelving and slow progress

Thought for the day :"In what era were hearing aids first used?"

Another sunny day at Ffynnon Wen and quite warm really. Heavy frost over night and the same expected tonight so the Camellia is covered again. But today I was working on trying to keep the dog in the estate..

A walk up the lane to see Dave and Lee - sadly Dave had been taken to Hospital due to problems with his leg and have offered to go an pick him up as Lee does not drive at the moment - but I think that they are sorted - we wish them well... We came back via the Scramble to see how the bluebells were doing...

Susie put some more heathers on Meerkat Mountain  and has spent a lot of time in the greenhouse, nd constructed the shelving that I brought from Llanelli yesterday. Up to Only fools 'n Horses for a bale os straw - was booked for 12.40pm but I got carried away with the fencing and when I went at 2pm it was shut - but luckily there was one member of staff still there and they let me in to collect the straw which was sitting on a pallett..

Did a little work on the Workshed - it is a slow job looking through all the stuff that has probably been there for years and deciding what may still be usable...  Building lots of shelves so we have lots of storage there as well...

Susie put her Iris's down by the top spring - the last ones were all eaten so we have gathered many 5 litre water bottles to try to protect them...

Contemplating Llanelli tomorrow - or may stay here and finish the workshed and maybe try building a pallet seat for the river view...  We shall see...

Bluebell Patch in the Lower Quarter

'Thena enjoys rolling in the Bluebells
but they seem to be surviving

Azalea starting to flower on the lower quarter

Got to the Duck pond and did half a dozen shovel fulls
will be a long time to dig out completely

Re-built shelving in the Greenhouse

Susie and her Growing "Stuff"

Fencing put up along the back of the Tavern
and water tanks - more fencing on order...

Another few bags of bramble put onto the "dump" - which is now filling up nicely..

Second day of 24/7 reporting on the death of HRH Phillip - Duke of Edinburgh.
Thought the first few hours of documentaries were quite interesting - but a second full day of nothing but HRH is getting tiring and there seems to be a kick-back against 100% coverage of one subject only detracts from other things happening in the world. Is there no other news ? What is being hidden !!!

In other news - put my contact lenses in for the first time since Feb 4th - as the eye seems to be recovering form the Shingles now - only for a few hours to watch TV this evening..
Sadly I have no idea where all my reading glasses are !!!
Project for tomorrow

And so to Bed
Cheers !!
