27th August 2021 - Tavern and Meerkat Mountain

Thought for the day :"I just bought two Harry Potter brooms in Poundland! Quid each!"

Friday and sunny again ...

Started the day with a trip to the local dump - my mother would have been proud. 

I had ulterior motives - the peacock is triple bagged now and getting very rank as is at least two other black bags out there - and there were some electric goods that needed to go whenever I made the trip..

and so I got to the site and found that it is a private company that is doing recycling..  The result of which is that they stopped me as I went to the main skip and asked what I had .. Black bags of mixed household apparently is not acceptable - everything must be sorted..

They also would not take the recycled bags as they were also not sorted..

and so the very smelly black bags are back with us until the 2nd September - which is when the council will collect the black bags again ...

But a trip to the local store for lemons for a cheese cake, and fresh milk, and Buelah for layers pellets and mixed corn.

And back to work on the tavern...

Shelving and clearing and the Harmonium in place ..  making progress

But first - there was a box on the wall - a typical piece of Victor !! THese are the starter chargers for the fluorescent lights...

But the build goes on ... remaking the IKEA shelving units to fit over Victor's Box...

and into place

and a few additions and room for stacking the storage boxes...

And so the Harmonium now has a place..

Music Stand being fixed - glue and screws..

Menawhile, Susie has been out all day on Meerkat Mountain clearing the brambles, placing our Brithdir Stones and planting heather

And teh cleared area

Looking so good - (and those are the black bags at the top) ..

and dinner was home made moussaka, Susie's Aubergine, tomatoes, cucumber, potatoes, in fact everything except the mince.  Had a jug of Ffynnon Blanc as it is very near in taste to Greek Wine...
