8th January 2021 - The Trump Legacy

Thought for the day :"I’ve started a job at The Figure of Speech Society. We guarantee service with a simile."

Today is very cold and I shiver a little at my computer. The electric heating is on but it is still cold. Not a day for going out really - though we went to Llanybydder to take Vic for some blood tests, did his shopping and got some Mixed Corn for the poultry....

But despite the cold - the garden is beginning to bud - the bulbs are coming out everywhere ...

Meanwhile, Trump seems to have got his Twitter account back, but Facebook and Instagram have banned him until after the inauguration.  A policeman is dead, as well as three others, 10 Trump officials have resigned. 200 members of Congress ( mainly democratic) have called for the immediate removal of Trump as President - wither through impeachment or engaging the 25th Amendment.

Trump finally denounces the actions of the demonstrators who now call "foul" on the President. FBI are treating the death of the policeman as murder, enquiries are going into why they were so unprepared, though my own previous post suggests that Trump officials refused to mobilise the National Guard but this has not appeared in any news reports... What has been reported is that Pence called out the Guard from his hiding place in the Capital building, which accounts for much of the delay...

News now suggests that demonstrators were carrying large zip ties (cable ties as used in plastic handcuffs) suggesting that some wanted to take hostages. There are also reports of pipe bombs and improvised explosive devices.

So, as the story develops over the last 12 days of the Trump term I thought I would look at his legacy..

Enjoy.. or be scared that this can happen !

And so, on the day that London's Mayor calls a major incident as the hospitals are overrun with Covid patients I leave you with the Cartoon of the day...

Cheers !
