16th October 2020 - Sanitising

Thought for the day:"Cinderella should have stuck with the animals rather than marry a man who made her try on a shoe because he didn’t recognise her without makeup"

Getting a little more scary - a little closer to a full shut down, the Wales is taking action to try to stop highly infectious people from England coming into Wales as tourists spreading disease, and no, this is not divisive and anti England - we have been stopping our own infectious from traveling around the country for a few months - it just makes sense - you can't make an area Tier 3 shut down but let them pop across to Wales for a Holiday !!!

We will stop them on the borders - let's start singing Men of Halrech!

My facebook is filled with people starting to complain about fireworks being let off already !! And quite rightly! It is 16th October - weeks until Guy Fawkes. We have Halloween to go first.
Luckily, I do not think that fireworks will be much of a problem here. Not only are we a long way away from "town" (Rhydlewis), but our neighbours are a long way away, there will be no big displays this year due to shut-down and in a mainly rural farming community I do not think that many fireworks are used to scare the animals and stop the cows giving milk.

We shall see...

In other news, today we both went to our new Chiropractor - a lveoly fellow called Nick, who trained with Alison Statten our last Chiropractor in Penarth and knew our first practitioner Gill Roy. A bit rougher and more robust than the two previously mentioned - will tell you tomorrow how we react. Mctiminy Chiropractors are renowned for the fact that they do not "manipulate" in a harsh manner - which is why I first went to one when very bad with my back. But I think it is fair to say that he was "firm".

Both of us were mainly pelvis and back straightening though Susie has an issue with her neck which can cause headaches. Hopefully we are good for another 6 months.

As a result - we did not do huge amounts of strenuous work today - though Susie managed to dig more of her veg bed before the consultation.

Main task of the day was bottling the first of the Scottish Sanitiser...  which came out about 55% in the still and has cut to 35%-38% which is pretty close to standard requirement. Colour is good with flavouring.

The clear liquid and the flavour sachet...

First Bottle on the racks..

In other news, one of Victor's strange artifacts that has been left behind (we think it is Victor as the quality is very high in the workmanship and we have NO idea what it is for - but it is a piece of board with some sort of roofing section - and struck me as the ideal thing to become a noticeboard for the Peacocks Story to be put onto the road above the enclosure...

So a bit of Weatherproofing with Cuprinol rescued from the sheds was in order.. And since I was doing that I also painted the kiddies benches while I was at it - they will have to be done sometime - why not now? Now - for a section of roofing - we seem to have some lovely asbestos panels just about the right size if i can find a safe way of drilling them and trimming to size....

A job for tomorrow as the Chiropractor says no heavy work for a couple of days...

and finally
One step nearer full shut-down
Boris claims EU have turned their back on Free Trade Deal and Michel Barnier has been told to go home by the EU - so Brexit Trade Negotiations may be finally over.
Trump had a rough ride in his "Town Hall" with NBC by all accounts - I shall watch a little later
Biden seems to have had a reasonable Town Hall - mainly because he had some policies to talk about
Texas opened voting and a million have gone for early votes apparently

Cheers !
