20th april 2014 - Vows and Valhalla..

Thought for the day : "I say no to alcohol, it just doesn’t listen."

A field somewhere up near Northampton. A glade with selected branches twisted into a rough circle. A large, though to be fair mainly grubby, Marquee but quite distinctly the Crimson Moon with Bin Caravanshi in charge and John-Boy and Pussy Bynt..  The Bothy leveled on the car-park and a gin and tonic in hand...
And the surreal sight of a gentleman in a dark suit - beating the stuffing out of a youngster with a large sword - while being chased by the bride with an equally large sword...

For this is what happens when old friends meet up with the intention of celebrating a 40th Birthday, but as important, for a lovely couple to replenish their wedding vows in front of their friends and family..

And the weather was kind. It was a bit Northerly and the wind was bitter when the sun went in - but the day was bright and did not break until we were all ready to pack down..

Dogs were excellent - considering that once again this was a scout camp and dogs are not allowed. But they stayed in the Bothy and took their comfort stroll discretely...

So - photos to be worked on on the Easter Bank Holiday tomorrow.

And I leave you with a picture of Oscar and his special request for "When I first cane to this land" and the "real Words"  not the stuff that Vollsanger sings ...    But a high point for me was when the vote of thanks went to the "awesome Crimson Moon" for being there and providing the booze and venue...   It is clear that the legacy continues.. Nothing to do with us any more or course - but nice to know that all that work goes on into the next generation..

But for the moment we are back from our travels and a nice bottle of Chateau 41 is required...
