9th October 2023 - Wood and Compost

Thought for the day :"Maybe if we start telling people their brain is an app, they’ll want to use it."

Another uncharacteristically warm day, and Susie had a short trip to get an x-ray to her neck - though it has been pretty good recently. Have to say that the facility in cardigan is very impressive, and efficient. It makes a difference to have a new medical facility like this in the area.

Back via the car wash to get most of the mud off the Vectra, and a quick trip into Glan Thomas the Garden Machinery repairer to see if they want paying yet - no invoice yet !!

Speedy trip back to receive our first load of wood for the year. we should be self sufficient by next year I hope - if I get my finger out and start chopping the ash in the lower quarter, but for this year we are going for a load of large logs again - sadly gone up in price - not £180 rather than £160 but still looks good wood ..

Finished stacking it with the wheelbarrow  which took a while, and after walking the dogs - managed to put the last 9 bags of compost into the polytunnel..

Squeak Pea seem to be thriving - and  Fabio and Zsa Zsa seem to like the extra clearance in their enclosure. Should get the tractor down to the lower quarter tomorrow.

Toby decided to visit next door and introduce himself to the couple in the Caravan - so had to go and apologise but they seem to be dog lovers and were more anxious that the dog was missing. Susie thinks that we should put a poster in the Caravan saying who he is and to tell him to go home if they are fed up with him.

Seems like a plan...

Left it too late to get the euros on line this time - and sadly do not get the higher rates of exchange - but have ordered to collect from Tesco on Wednesday Morning.

And so, another day ..

Cheers !
