So, back in the UK after a fairly uneventful flight back last night. We had a good day at the Monastery, taking a number of photos which will no doubt be appearing in due time, and indeed did go to Friends in the mountains and played a few ditties and scared some of the locals..
Flight by easyjet was uneventful with the obligatory bit of turbulence when Susie got here hot Chocolate just as we approached the Alps.
Luton Airport was a disaster at the Passports - about 6 planes must have come in at the same time and the queue to the E - Passports took almost an hour - Susie pressed the Red Angry/Dissatisfied button on the "how was your experience today? with a level of violence and determination which exacted a chuckle from one of the other passengers traveling alongside.
For once, the car park accepted our ticket and let us out on our pre-paid booking and we got back to Nancy's house at about 2am - so a reasonable day...
This morning, at 7am - I thought it was 9am being on Crete time still - a bonus, but in fact the children were exceptionally good and did not disturb us - which is more than can be said for the dogs who were clicking and clacking around on the wooden flooring form about 7am onwards. Luckily for me - I was in a different room - Susie was not so lucky !
But deciding to go for breakfast at Tesco at about 9.30am - the builders arrived and so we did a couple of hours navvying in the back garden - helping take some scaffolding down, clearing the debri from the extension - barrowing wood and blocks form the site into the front Garden, and carrying 180 roof tiles form the front to the back garden - sadly - I did this bit before checking with Stuart - who was not up at that time... Apparently her had moved all the tiles that needed going to the back yesterday with the help of some friends and had calculated that the rest would be for the front !!! Oops! I offered to take them all back again !!! but sadly ran out of time ( :) ) and we had to head off home - boy do my muscles ache !! Haven't done that sort of physical labour for a while !
Note to self - Aylesbury Tesco has a coffee shop not a Cafe....
Further note to self - Bicester Tesco has a proper Cafe and a good breakfast for £4.30 per person.
Pit that the coffee and tea cost the same again !!!
anway - an uneventful journey home - so will check the emails and the messages ...
err - Maybe tomorrow ....
And a couple of photos to remind us that it was hot out there !!
And for the last time
