9th December 2014 - Another day of Man Flu

Thought of the day: "There is nothing worse than waking up next to someone after a night of drinking .. And you don't know their name, how you met .. Or why they are dead !!!"

So, the chocolate did not help - or rather, there is no chocolate so I do not know if it would help or not..
All I really know is that another day id drifting by with a sore throat and an annoying cough. Generally I feel fine, so I cannot really claim  "man flu" ... I would be doing all the active things I would normally want to do other than the fact that I think I am better inside where it is warm - and not out spreading germs to all and sundry.

An opportunity to review the weekend and some of the photographic enjoyments..

The drill was interesting and the manoeuvres practiced included the "Charge" - here the scariest part is the young lady in the vanguard - She scares me more than the Captain !

Of course, Devilstick Peat was on hand to entertain. This weekend was mainly celebrated in magic rather than juggling - and fun was had by all..
The future of every company is in the new recruits - the youngsters exhibited great skills -

And then there were the other new recruits -awaiting a name after their initial experiences in the Black Company ...  Yes there were other recruits, but the Black Company has never particularly noted itself on its glamour - rather on its brute ferocity, filthy language, hard soldiers and a hard life...  allow me to savour a moment or two  ....
The artful use of armour as a fashion accessory - but beware the weapons as well - they are not toys - but rather tools  - "tooled to the Nine's, Sir!!"

But also an opportunity to laugh and have fun ..

And possibly a "Wrong 'Un".  Private Stubbs lost a bet and failed to defeat one of the female members in combat...  and ended up in a dress for the Banquet ....  The Black Company is a motley crew.... Here is a before and after picture...

Much could be said about the weekend - A great banquet - good company and a group of people who really appreciate Vollsanger  - hard not to like them really ...

Cheers
