Dry (though a little damp in the morning )
2025 : Wet 37 : Dry 47
It is Wednesday once again and following Dave (the Builder)'s work yesterday we were expecting him to arrive for 8.30am to start the pine end.
Damp overnight - I don't hink it actually rained but it was like a heavy mist and the ground was wet. Dave says that should not affect the render - damp is good, frost and rain is bad...
However - after my third cup of tea, Chris turned up at 10am quickly followed by Dave and Rhys.
A later start was decided to allow the morning to settle and in fairness, Dave has hurt his back and the rendering of the pine end will be a real task.
But enjoying my cup of tea - the sun came out and it was warm enough to enjoy the garden
So Chris and I started by taking all the OSB Boards down to the lower quarter, and though they are only 9mm, they are still heavy and awkward to get down the garden.
Also the pallets had to be taken to the mezzanine level, and three pallets chopped in half for the platforms.
Bit of a bad luck day for Dave , found that he had left the 6fy spirit level at home and couldn't put the beading in place. Headed off for that while Rhys found that the petrol Cement mixer had no fuel.
add to that the fact that his skimming trowel was locked up in his lock-up in Blaenpwll and with health we decided to call it a day and try again tomorrow ...
So Chris and I got on with our tasks..
And then putting Damp Proof Membrane over the boards.
Next Job - looking at the new Eco Toilet ...
So 6 hours work and time for a beer - though I am on antibiotics for my cough so had to make do with diet coke... but Lilac decided to join us for peanuts form the hand and check on our progress.
But Susie was busy today as well and has planted all her new strawberry plants into the raised strawberry planters..
The Quince looks good and gives some much needed colour in the garden
A check with Susie and apparently they are raspberries that have self seeded and are growing..
So - very tired at the end of the day - and a cup of tea instead of a glass of wine - probably good for me.
Cheers !
