Thought for the day :"Glen Campbell only weighed 57.16kg - seems he was a ninestone cowboy."
Dry
2025 : Wet 33 : Dry 44
Wednesday means Chris coming to join me in working the Homestead and starting work at 10 - and on this occasion a full 8 hour day. A lot achieved in a day.
Starting another fire - the first stage of every day with Chris.
Clearing the brush from the pathways as we start the day.
But now we can see the springs properly and the water is clearing
Moved the logs along the pathway
Managed to clear the undergrowth and fight our way into the azaleas that had been squashed down
Looking back down the path from the Lower Quarter
Pulled all the lights back and separated them to find where the breaks are in the wiring
Also cleared a few more of the trunks by the gate
Ready to start building the Peacock Wood Store. Chain saw bench and log splitter now moved to the Peacock Wood Store.
This pile of wood needed to be cleared to the main structure and brush removed.
Back area behind the Yurt needed to be chopped and cleared.
Lower springs cleared.
And back to the Lower Quarter flower bed and the Tulip and daffodills are showing up
Tools available
Readying the bank to clear for the platforms
Laying out the area for the two ground level platforms - ground needs to be flattened but the area works well.
Decision still to be made regarding whether to keep the pallet walkway - with everything still being wet it is likely to be a yes.
And another stack of pallets
And the Gate is out !! Brute force and ignorance for the win!
And the Peacock Wood Store structure is up - may need to think about persuading Will and Joy for more tin sheeting.
Lower Spring and Toby's Plunge pool cleared by Susie.
Beginning to look fresh
Toby approves that his plunge pool is back
And the Workers - and a clear area.
Cheers !
