Thought for the day :"You use 14 muscles to pour a cup of tea (Fitness is my passion)"
So, having re-sharpened the chain saw yesterday - it was a day to clear the tree off the fence and then reduce the trunk into logs, and it worked well - it has clearly been off for a while - looking forward to getting the sharpening tool tomorrow..
First day of re-laying the lane by the council - so a day of a dumper truck heading back and forward feeding a track-laying machine .. they got down to Wyn's Forestry...
Took the dogs for a walk but had to head up into Wyn's Forestry as we could not get up the lane...
In other news..
Today is the feast day of Saint Tegfedd.
Tegfedd was the daughter of Tegid Foel (Tegid the Bald), a lord of Penllyn medieval cantref in the Kingdom of Powys. She is also mentioned as the mother of Afan Buellt (Saint Afan of Builth). She is said to have accompanied her brother, Tydecho, in evangelising the area around Mawddwy in mid Wales at the time of King Arthur's legendery Battle of Camlan in 537, which many people argue, occured in this area. There is one story that has Tegfedd being abducted by the local Prince Cynan. However, Tydecho prayed until Cynan and men went blind, forcing Cynan to return Tegfedd and beg forgiveness and the granting of land to have his sight restored. Tegfedd is also associated with Llandegfedd 5 miles east of Pontypool and is said to died as a martyr for her Christian faith at the hands of the pagan Saxons.
Cheers !
