17th December 2023 - Visitations and Chain Saws

Thought for the day :"How many apples can you grow on a tree? All of them!"

Visit from Nancy, Erin and TJ and a nice walk with Nancy and Ziggy.

Also a visit from the Horses - Dave, Sarah, Zephyr and Sally ..  A couple of Irish coffees and beers.

After they eft we examined the water course at the front of the house where the water was gathering and dug out the culvert..

Sarah kindly offered to sharpen up the Stihl chain saw for me with her machine which proved very effective - and  which looked easy enough to use and far more effective than the manual fashion that I have been suing up till now - and which clearly is blunting the chain rather than sharpening it..
(Quick look at Amazon tonight and my own version should arrive on Tuesday so I can keep it sharp in the future - it looks pretty fool proof!)

In other news :
The Royal mint at Llantrisant was opened on 17th December 1968, in readiness for the introduction of the decimal coinage. It now mints all of the UK's coinage, as well as those of many other countries.

Cheers !
