15th June 2022 - Waterfalls and Chicken Coops and Water Carriers

Thought for the day :"If there are watermelons – we should have firemelons, earthmelons and airmelons – in fact a full set of elemelons - discuss"

Today was meant to be the hottest of the year and apparently most of the country was suffering.
We had rain!
Not much to be honest and it was quite warm for much of the day - but we still had rain !

But we needed to get the ducks out form their brooding box as they are getting too big. Which meant that the young layers had to find a new home. Which meant the the baby peacock enclosure needed clearing and when I say needed clearing I mean that the Balsam had gone berserk - the cage was acting as a greenhouse with the tarpaulin over it!

Also the counterpoise water lifter was not only broken but covered in balsam, nettle, couch grass, laurel and bramble.

So - here are some pictures...

In other news, Susie finished clearing the waterfall that she started yesterday - I was making security fencing for the chicken coop but helped with the hose which apparently has a one way valve which explained why it kept on popping at the joint - but fixed in the end ...

Another view of the house

And so while I went for a Nap - Susie did some fishing helped by Toby

And as my German Friends Jens and Ute are coming to visit on the 27th June I thought I would send them a picture of their bedroom and the view out of the window

And another day done - off to Newport tomorrow for Susie to get her angiogram that she has been waiting for for three years - finally decided that she could have it privately - paid for by NHS - but cuts the waiting time.

Cheers !
