23rd October 2021 - Lighting the Ty Bach and more drones

Thought for the day :"A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion"

A bit of a mixed bag today.
Started a bit drizzly and wet but held off enough to take the dogs up to the field and run little Toby off his legs. Here he is asleep with his nose in a butter carton.

Susie retired to her greenhouse to clear it and prepare sowing for winter salads and other winter growing plants. Took the nectarine down to winter under glass.

I set up the lights for the tunnel, and then the lighting for the alleyway to the Ty Bach and round the back to where the urinal will be situated. Managed to get the lighting to reach into the Ty Bach and all seems to be working well. Sadly, forgot that I am going to have to get some power into the Ty Bach anyway to keep the fan working on the loo. Maybe that will push me to get the solar panel and leisure battery for the purpose.

The Tunnel

The Alley

The Ty Bach

In ASDA news - they refunded the cost of the whole dozen eggs almost immediately so happy with that as a solution..  I think it was an automated system to be honest !

And so, another Saturday. Still no symptoms. Lateral Flow was negative yesterday.

More drone footage from Peter ... Part 2

In Other News:
Today is the anniversary of the start of the war of Jenkin's Ear - from Llanelli

On 23rd October 1739 the War of Jenkins' Ear Began

The War of Jenkins' Ear was a conflict between Great Britain and Spain that lasted from 1739 to 1748.

Robert Jenkins, from Llanelli, was captain of a British merchant ship, returning home from the West Indies when his ship was boarded by the Spanish on suspicion of smuggling.  The Spanish commander bound Jenkins to the mast and cut off one of his ears.  He then told him to tell his King, that he would get the same.

On his return, Jenkins exhibited his severed year in Parliament and this was the spark that ignited a simmering resentment towards the Spanish, who had reneged on an agreement for Britain to sell slaves in Spanish America

After 1742, this war became part of the much larger, War of the Austrian Succession, in which most of the states in Europe became involved. In particular, France and Britain, who were fighting each other for control of the American and Asian Colonies.
