30th June 2024 - It's all about the Bass

Thought for the day :"I have stability - the Ability to stab!"

Apparently this statement offends the Facebook Police so I cannot use it ...trying another one

Thought for the day :"If I ever have to run for my life I don't think it is going to end well"

Rain

So, started the day finishing removing nails form pallets and getting them ready to take down to the lower quarter.  Used the Tractor to tow them down - though had a capsize halfway

But we have flowers on the kiwi tree at last.
Tried for four years to get it to flower - we think that these are the female flowers and the male ones are not yet out . Fingers crossed.

Susie worked on her gooseberries and picked about 3 kilo
Also weeded out the raspberry beds and here the pathway with the comfrey getting very large.

Black currants are almost read to pick as well

Lower Quarter grass cut..

Meanwhile, Dave and Sarah called which was an excuse to stop and have a beer.

And we have a new object on the Patio - Dave's new object of Pride..

Had a blow-out with the wheelbarrow

Richard from Woody's - one of the Charities that we have supported, popped in the other day and seeing that we needed some bricks for a fire pit by the Yurt - dropped these by today ..
Very kind of him.

And back to the wheelbarrow - a new axle cut and fitted,   Adulting again!!

Cheers !

But a couple of photos as I put the chicken to sleep

Chrissie and Paul safely home in the USA so time to put the Penguin away ..

27th June 2024 - On the Road to Heathrow

26th June 2024 - 3 Beaches and some cows

Thought for the day :" I put these glasses on and immediately saw a man in armour on a horse. I think they are Knight visions goggles"

Dry and very sunny

Hottest day of the year here in Wales - too hot to take the dogs for a walk at midday..
But instead we had the cows encroaching on the lower quarter. Thought they were coming in on by the barbed wire fencing but after taping up the area I found a cow climbing the stream up to the Drinking Spring ..   Used bailer time to represent an electric fence so we will see whether that works tomorrow.

But decided on a road trip around the beaches locally.

Took the lid off the Volvo and drove very slowly along the back roads as we went down to Penbryn beach, where we could not park so had a look and drove on to Tresaith.
Once again parking was tight so I dropped Chrissie and Paul onto the beach so that they could walk around to see the waterfall.

Drove back up the lane to the Ship Inn and parked outside and grabbed a pint of Carlsberg as I watched the car. After a while, a parking space came up in the car park. When they finished we drove back via Llangranog and stopped to see the views  and wend our way through teh village and home.

Enjoying Tresaith

Cheers !

25th June 2024 - Dolphins

Thought for the day :"Is the opposite of a croissant a Happy Uncle?"

Dry

Day trip to see the Dolphins from New Quay today and in fairness we caught up with them almost as soon as we got out of the harbour.

Sadly Brahma did not make it

Cheers !

24th June 2024 - Road Trip - Aberywtwyth

Thought for the day :"Saw an old man in the park feeding the birds. I wondered how long he had been dead"

Dry today

Early walk with the dogs and off on a road trip to Aberystwyth to climb Constitution Hill and visit the Camera Obscura

A quick visit to the old Boathouse at the harbour...  The old GP14's looking a little sad

Took the long trip back via Devil's Bridge and then overland through Trawscoed.

Came across a lake in the middle of nowhere that we had never seen before Trisant

Rather beautiful..

A good day out

Cheers !
