28th June 2023 - Caught some Germans in my net

Thought for the day :"There was a kidnapping in our local school but the teacher was on it, and woke the kid up"

Start to the day and time to finish putting some life into the ritual circle area

And then off to Bristol to pick up some Germans

27th June 2023 - Tesco Discounts and random stones

Thought for the day: "I'm about to break out my 26 piece camping set, one folding chair, one table and 24 beers"

Getting near to German Visitors arrival ..

Today it was off to Carmarthen to Charlies for paints and new flame solar pillars for the ritual circle 

Also Tesco for  booze and a fight with them for the wine not getting the 25% discount 

but all sorted out - but glad I checked the receipts

Back to the homestead and an hour clearing all the wooden walkways away rom the main site and under cover  ..     also a search around the grounds for extra stones

And so we have some work today - colouring the stones

Tomorrow I need to clear the bonfire from the Island as it did not catch and is in the way 

Should have enough  time before picking up the Germans 

we shall see 
Now need to get back to the plot !!

26th June 2023 - The plot thickens

Thought we day: "I don't drink beer I drink wheat and barley smoothies"

Another day on the island - managed to get strimmed right across and started burning the pile - didn't really catch as I had hoped - will try again tomorrow and then we will have to get rid of the debris..

Hung the light in the tree for the ritual circle - will have to go down later and see what affect it has ..

But it is clear  - and there are some funny inscriptions upon the steps - more of that later 

 

But the Island is looking good and the grass is beginning to settle in ..

Susie did her big Tesco shop for the week this morning and had to change a tyre that was flat - the front tyre that had been bothering me did not seem to want to go down so it is still there. Also pumped the spare up  - see if that holds the air as well .. Tyre guy knows Phil the local policeman in the village who has been to the tavern so hoping that they may come on the 16th July when we next open.

Which reminds me that I have to apply for the license tonight 

  

Still looking for puzzles...

New affect with the stones looks as though it will work - beginning to think about setting this up as an escape room afterwards... seems like an idea - will come back to that again ...

25th June 2023 - Final Steps , Stones and Bus Lanes

Thought for the day :"Why is it Luke warm and not medium warm – Who Is Luke ?"

Another hot and long day !!

Finished the steps - decided to refill the grids with earth so I can seed with grass seed and have a Green set of steps with the planking back - but more important it is safe to walk on.

Also put the drainpipe in and covered up - so hoping that the water flows into the soakaway

Big pile of greenery now that needs o be burned - probably tomorrow ...

In other stories - the cementing failed and the stones and containers broke - so trying mark two now - we shall see if they succeed..   We shall see - (Still secrets)

In other news... Shame on this vehicle driving in a Bus Lane !!

Possibility of new player for the weekend ..
Macpiet seems to be excited - 70 hours he says !
