2nd June 2015 - Unicycles, Python and Pies

Thought for the day :"What if Google doesn't know?"

Another day chasing some TABS from the last events - it does seem to be something that people like to forget about  - but it provides a service so I am not complaining, and I am sure that a number of people would probably have decided not to bother buying that extra drink if they checked their pockets and found no money - though I do not see the  food concessions having the same problems.

And so, Firefly is over and we are getting ready for the next CP event - this time in Wigan. The weather is no better today - still muggy and wet - though there is a chance that it will improve as we head to the weekend.

But - before we leave Firefly - some photos form the excellent "Flasher" Steve Mitchell - that capture the inside of the Crimson Moon Ship Board Bar :
The Shepherd Lee Flett (Shepherd Book was in the main series!!)  having a quiet moment of humour as the fun and games continues in and outside the bar...

And a few songs were sung and a few tunes were played ..

Seems I managed to bash my nose at some point - not sure how that happened ....

The Shepherd looking after his flock  - "and the round bowl" ready for a rousing chorus of the Barley Mow ...
And supervising the games - all very interesting ...

And so - we move on to the next event - Curious Pastimes event 2, Taking Heaven's Grave, next weekend, 5th to 7th June 2015 at Bispham Hall Scout Estate. WIGAN !!

"Peace reigns. After years of struggle against the forces of terror, with the death of Demmin and the destruction of the old gods of Siberia, the lands of the Jhereg hold a tenuous peace. Following the passing of Lord Jhereg at the festival of Renewal the three new hosts to the Jhereg spirit, the Taken have assumed control of both the war band and the nation.

With most of Siberia enjoy the brief respite from internal conflict, the Taken invite the other nations to join them on a mission of discovery, to walk another dark path north to a place where it is rumoured a threat, both mysterious and great may lie hiding in plain sight. With the recent new threat of an impending second war of the fey, we must be quick to seize what power and knowledge we can to gain the advantage.

Whatever it is at the end of this road, whatever the cause of the rumours, both a strong arm and mind will be needed for those who choose to answer this call and walk the dark path."

And finally - sorting through some posts today and had to share the following...
Monty Python on flaming bagpipes on a unicycle....

Portland-based Brian Kidd, also known as “The Unipiper”, uploaded a video of himself riding around dressed as King Arthur while playing the theme from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail on flaming bagpipes. It is unclear whether the person clapping the coconut halves together found them nearby, or if they were carried by an African or European swallow.

and some pies - because I can and haven't done so lately

Oh - and a bottle of Chateau 41!!!

  1. I think 'the jury is still out' on which species carries the 'half-shells', but I'd guess most people would prefer oysters in them.
