Looking at the weather as the rain hammered against the window pane this morning, and following the weather reports later on the TV - it seems that we may have made an excellent choice in deciding to leave Scolton Manor last night. While the BBC and the reporters in the south east are moaning that it is the hottest day of the year - we are under a band of torrential rain.
However - it is Sunday and that means that the van can park outside the house on the single yellow line and so it is full of "stuff" and I can get around to emptying it as the rain stops.
It is strangely full to the gunnel's - which is quite strange as it was half empty when we left yesterday morning - but that is planning and packing for you....
Posted the photos of the Welsh Horse, and suddenly find out that almost everyone is local. Have had a load of photos tagged by a "Friend of a Friend" - turns out to be boyfriend of one of the riders, who has worked in the Sports shop and tells me that he has made some of our T Shirts !!
Small World...
Lovely shots of Rusty and some random children....
and of course
Farmer Jesse himself.... with Doris
Managed to sleep in until 11am despite the rain and have uploaded a few photos...
Best go and have some brunch - can't call it breakfast at this time.. Think that Scarmbled Egg on Toast is called for....
Ta Ta Tiffin at the Tavern seems to be keeping very popular. 200 have said they will be attending - well it is just up the path for them if they are on site... but still touched by some of the comments.

Zara Cunliffe That would be the 1st tapestry festival, Mick was just recollecting the young man with the enormous, suspicious "cigarette" that was was insisting it was alright to smoke inside the tavern, until you turned up Darren :)

Derek Degs Gibbin That would be one of the bints from memories past, yes. Possibly the loudest recital of the chat up line I ever heard, lol.

Derek Degs Gibbin and there I am hiding at the back, (I too was a chat up line virgin that year, lol)
Jon-Paul Filkins While not there in person, the time Captain Hunter robbed the Crimson Moon at a scurvy scum event has to be a classic.

Rachael E Watts Having the crimson moon at our wedding, it made it absolutely perfect....also seeing relatives faces in the evening when the pussy cat song started, fab
Victoria Pilgrim It's got to be standing on a bench singing 'Randall My Son' and watching the entire Crimson Moon (including Volsanger) get stuck in and steadily more drunk on each cue : )

End of the day .. House Painted and they did a nice job - coming back tomorrow to wash the gutters and clean the windows which wasn't really part of the deal but is part of the service .
Trailer loaded. Van Loaded . Just the Kitchen and travelling stuff to load tomorrow - so well ahead of schedule. Seems the weather at Scolton improved my mid day - but not worried - was the right decision.
Took a lot longer to load this evening than expected - must be getting older !!!
So, the Welsh Horse seem to like their photos and are tagging each other ...
Ta Ta Tiffin seems to be as popular as ever ....
Off on the road tomorrow ....
Bottle of Red - Simply Cotes du Rhone - I know - it is french - but it was either that or the Meths
I will have a scotch to take the taste away later
