21st AUgust 2012 - Tuesday - PACCAR
Oh well - it had to happen sometime of course.
You can drive 1500 miles to Germany and back - but if you go to HiQ tyres before your journey and decide to have all the tyres checked and because you are heavy - decide to up the pressures to 65 instead of the standard 60 - then you are bound to have a blown tyre on the Motorway!!!
And we do !!
Nothing we can see twith it - just a flat - no nail or cut - but looks as thought the valve went and then of course we have a tyre which has been driven on.
So - there you go - £115 for a new tyre " Sorry we only have the expensive one in your size" say ATS - but we got to them just before they closed and they fitted the new tyre - and the RAC man was very nice and led us to the ATS store so we did not miss them..
However - it means wse get to PACCAR at about 9pm - too late to do anything in the glades -
So a nights sleep ( and a couple of cans of Bass which I had the forethought to take!!)
in the bunks of the Ref Cabin... Most uncomfortable beds I have been in for a long time - but
I sleep well anyway .....
And then Tuesday...
Up early - mainly because of the beds being uncomfortable!!....
A look at the glade and we decide it is going to be do-able.
We think we can get an extra section of tent into the galde making a Five Master rather than the normal four master - and with the extra piece of canvass - we decide that we can drape that across the glade as shelter....
First two master up and the five master up by 1pm.
Dry and we can get the trailer in - so carriage not too bad.
Bookers arive so stock in .....
Party Plastics arrive and no-one actually mentions it -
so when the skies open and the rain comes down in torrents of monsoon - then at least the tents are weatherproof....
A few people in for the evening - including some new tarders who are trying LARP after being re-enactors....
Bottle of wine and the fire is burning well....
Night
