Saga of Booking dot com - no update - but no charge to the credit card yet..  We shall see

But we have a new adventure - the Duck House!

We bought the super duper automatic Duck opening auto gate a few weeks ago and have been waiting for the first dry and sunny day to fit it to the duck house.

Setting it up seemed a little easy - and then all went a little pear-shaped as the system is fully automatic and did not seem to have any options other than to follow the instructions to set the time and then calibrate the door opening. And this was apparently very easy as you just press the button and it will automatically open and shut and set itself up ...

Except it only wanted to shut - and it was shut already so was pushing down and not going anywhere.

And so it was back tot he house and searching youtube - but that did not help - just told us that it was automatic and nothing could go wrong.

and so I succumbed to calling customer service who were very helpful, but didn't actually do anything, other than suggest I took a video so the "team" could se exactly what the problem was ..

So I did, and then found that 55Mb videos do not email - so had to upload to One Drive and give them the access code for the directory...  

Meanwhile, one of the Youtube vids had shown a previous version had a reset option by holding down the menu key for 8 seconds ..

Susie disappeared for an a hour and at the end of it triumphantly said that she had got it working by going to factory rest and redoing the auto actions - which worked properly this time.

And so - a clean duckhouse with 6 Runner Ducks - and hopefully the door will open at 9am tomorrow - will have to go down and check ...

But the new road still is affecting the water flow - this is in the dry - yet the road is clearly very wet - if it freezes this could get very naughty.

But we do have a dry day and a sunny one - so a quick view down the garden
