5th February 2024 - Subsidence

Thought for the day :"Legalise marijuana – tax it – use the tax to mend the roads – call it Pothole Duty"

Rain 24 : Dry 12
Bag 9 of coal in use

So our new road appears to have a problem
The tarmac is great and pretty thick, but it looks as though the heavy vehicles constructing the road have added some additional pressures - indeed we think that the main spring for our ponds is in this area, and may have undermined the tarmac - so the base underneath is all disappearing - and it will only take a heavy vehicle to break it all down and road slippage.

So the Highways supervisor popped up to see - well this was a combined effort...
Susie stayed on the phone for twenty minutes and finally reached someone in highways and gave the information - but we have a special weapon up our sleeves - Jim (the Pipe)
He used to work with Ceredigion Council and so he had already phones the highways surveyor, but more important  had got hold of the local supervisor and knew the guy who came to look at the road by name...

He also found a road cone which he had stored by the Romany Caravan in case it should be needed and had brought it up to mark the spot.

Quite a gap really

In other news :
Booking dot com - the Special Help section declare that they cannot do anything with bookings, the bear are following the matter up - and copied me into the messages but still have no confirmation that they are cancelling my booking ...
Am still watching the Tesco card site to check when the payment is taken

Cheers !
