Thought for the day :"I asked Tina Turner for her secret to cooking the perfect turkey. She said it’s simply the baste."
Monday.. and the Qashqai was booked in for a new windscreen to allow us to sell to the Main dealer JJ Motors. Sadly had to take it to Swansea for the 2 hour installation of the screen and 20 minutes to re-calibrate the sensors. Cost £90 for the excess on the insurance. Still better than the £115 that Admiral would have been.
Took the opportunity of walking around the industrial estate and visiting various shops.
Stagger in ASDA to find that there were 23 people without masks!! Two of the seemed to have laniards which may well have been an exemption from mask wearing - but with clear signs at the entrances saying that masks must be worn. Was very disappointed with the difference in Swansea form our local shops here in Ceredigion.
Remaining shops were better!!
Managed to find myself on the wrong side of a lake and had to walk an additional mile around to get back to the garage just as they were finishing.
Worst part was that the car had to have a full petrol tank for the calibration - it affects the cameras and the weight apparently. But that means that another £65 of diesel is int he tank - which will account for almost 600 miles!! Will have to see if I can siphon some out tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Landie would not start with a dead battery. I am assured that it is a brand new battery and should be fine - so have bought a new battery charger to fix that tomorrow - thinking that the radio was probably draining the battery while it was left for a couple of days int he drive.
But sadly, while walking around Swansea my tablet was dropped and the cover was opened and it seems that the on / off controls have slipped and will not switch on ...
Looks like a trip to Newcastle Emlyn tomorrow to see about repairs...
But, back at the homestead now and life goes on ....
Cheers !
