Thought for the day:"What starts with w and ends with a t."

I have a crazy hobby - but even I don't go out for a walk with my full kit and carry a swaord! That would be asking for problems I think..
Armed police swooped on a 'suspicious swordsman' they feared would launch an attack - only to find it was a fancy dresser out on his daily exercise.
Three gun-toting police from the firearms unit were called by after families who spotted the mystery knight at Hendre Lake, in St Mellons, Cardiff.
The 999 callers feared the swordsman would launch an attack with the 3ft weapon.
Police were left bemused to learn that the man was just out for a walk in his fancy dress knight costume at the lake beauty spot.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police told MailOnline: 'At 3.10pm on Wednesday 13th May, South Wales Police received a report from a member of the public that a man was seen at Hendre Lakes in Cardiff with a sword.
'Officers were deployed to the scene where they located a young man who was in fancy dress carrying a toy sword. No criminal offences were committed and the man was given suitable advice.'
Medical technician Mike James, 31, who was out with his wife and son, said: 'The whole thing was really surreal - he looked like something out of Assassin's Creed.
'We saw this guy walking around in this knight's outfit and carrying a sword.
'About five minutes later the armed police turned up, they said they'd had reports of a suspicious-looking person and we knew straight away who they were talking about.
'I told them it looked like he was doing laps of the lake and that he should be coming around shortly.'
He continued: 'The police ordered him to put the sword down and then they confronted him. They had a chat with him for a couple of minutes and apparently the guy told them he was trying out a new outfit and he was walking around the lake to get used to the weight.
'The armed police were good as gold and even had a picture with him afterwards before letting him go on his way.
'I don't know what the sword was made from but it looked real enough!
'The outfit did look heavy - I'm not sure it was proper chainmail but it made a real tinny noise as he was walking past.'
So - my friends in Germany immediately ask me if it is someone I know and a check of Facebook shows me that yes, he has been in the Crimson Moon when we have done Faction events for Lorien Trust - one of the main Live Roleplay Systems in the UK. Well done Lennon Thomas. In fairness - heavy armour does take a lot to get used to and this seems like a good time to check your stamina...
Talking of crazy - these are apparently the acceptable lines you can use...
So.. just read the latest form Mr Trump...
'The moment this terrible virus reached our shores, each of you has worked relentlessly to get the vital supplies to our healthcare warriors. And they are warriors aren't they, when you see them going into those hospitals and they're putting the stuff that you deliver, but they're wrapping themselves, and the doors are opening, and they're going through the doors, and they're not even ready to go through those doors, they probably shouldn't, but they can't get there fast enough, and they're running into death just like soldiers run into bullets in a true sense. I see that with the doctors and the nurses and so many of the people that go into those hospitals, it's incredible to see, it's a beautiful thing to see.'
So in the UK, there is a fuss over the plans to re-open schools, people flock back to the public transport in London and crowds, and Boris decides to declare war on Obesity .....
Are you humming a tune??? |
