11th July 2019 - Charity for Alzheimer's and some Trumpton

Thought for the day: "When the shoe salesman offered me velcro shoes I said,  "Sure, why knot?" "

Last January, at the St Teilo Lodge Burn's Night in Llanelli, the Charity collection was raised to provide funds towards Alzheimer's Charity, and in particular to support Maggie Trevett-Evans who shaved her head to raise money for the Charity.

Yesterday I was delighted to be able to present a Cheque to Maggie for £250 raised on the occasion which she was able to pass on to Jess Bowring - the representative of the Charity based in Ammanford.

A sunny day in Maggie's garden was a fitting place to remember Ken Evans, initiated in 1999, and Worshipful Master in 2008/9.  Once an excellent ritualist, and finalist in the television quiz program "15 to 1", his latter years were marked by this very sad condition. Maggie has raised over £1400 and hopes to have a full presentation to the Alzheimer's Charity in due course.
