14th October 2014 - On Storage Containers (Part One)

Thought for the day: "Remember half the people you know are below average."

We are half way through October, and the nights are drawing in and the temperature is dropping. We will soon need to get the heating on! The meter reader called yesterday. I was having a quick nap at the time and did not get downstairs fast enough to answer the door. He laft a note saying that he would come back today .. Not much point really... You can't get to the Gas Meter as there is an industrial sewing machine and a pile of "stuff" to the ceiling which would have to be moved - and I do not intend to do that today ... the electric meter can be seen. It is the thing that whizzes around at 90 mph in the basement. I think the numbers move so fast it would be difficult to read as well..

But it all comes down to the fact that we need to de-clutter again! We are running out of time with the current storage, and the new warehouse does not become available until 1st November. Watch out for more interesting "Box Moving" posts after the first... I hope to be able to move the storage container as well and maybe sell it !!

But while thinking about moving and about storage containers, I cam across a few pictures of what can be done with the basic storage container... This one is in California... It is a place called Six Oaks and is about 1200 sq ft in the Santa Cruz mountains..
Looks like storage containers from outside ... but a little more luxurious from the inside..
I presume that they have looked at things like insulation, being California and in the mountains. My own container is prone to damp but this looks as though they have cracked it..

A little ingenuity is all you need I suppose..
It would also be movable, and therefore may get around some building restrictions...

Well I was impressed anyway .. There are some more to come in the future..  But today is a day for trying to clear some paperwork ..  You can only procrastinate so far...  Maybe a cup of tea first....
