14th September 2020 - Change of Plans - But Sonny got home

Thought for the day:"I have done some terrible things for money – even tried going to work"

Started today with good intentions - visit a beach and walk the dog, get some shopping done, split another log, clear the floor area for the machine shed, clear more of the mermaid river view, get some walkways fixed...

and then Sonny (or Sunny) the dog trotted up to the front of the house. Friendly black and tan German Shepherd style dog ... very friendly and no indication that he wanted to be anywhere else...

So we started with the Romany Caravan  - not there!! Susie then took the dog for a walk through the village and as a result we met a number of people int he village who now know that we are here. Checked in with Charlie at the Mill at the bottom of the road and he identified him as Sunny (Sonny) and sent us up to the top of the Road looking for Brithdir Farm... Well - we took the main road and tried all of the farms before coming back to the starting place and found the lane at the back of the mill and drove. In the meantime, the dog had been reported on a FB app called Lost Dogs in Ceredigion and the owner found - so by the time we got to the farm they were expecting us (We did not know that) but we were glad to find a home for him...

We then started down a few of the roads to the sea, and sad to say they were all crawling with people - to be fair the weather was great!

God mops and brushes for Vic and did some shopping that the Carer's suggested he may like - we are dubious but willing to give them every opportunity. Sadly, Vic is feeling isolated it seems and asked today when he would be released from where he is - a difficult one to answer when this is what we have been working towards for months... We are trying to persuade him that he can come out of his room when he wants ...  it will take time ..

Back to the house and a quick experiment with the go-kart cutter to see if I could cut the uneven section of the lawn - toying with the idea (in the long run) of putting some hardcore and a restraining wall and re-turfing a section - putting some steps into the lawn to get to the path...  We will see - there are many more important projects at the moment - just want not to use too much of the electric fly-mo.

Lit a fire this evening and burned some of the Cotoneaster  (had not idea that was how it was spelled - but then again 8 weeks ago I would not have recognised it!).

Emptied a couple of boxes in the Tavern and transferred some rarely used alcohol - will take photos tomorrow...

Salad and sitting in front of the TV - can't be a bad life...

Glass of Chateau 41 - the last is dwindling fast ....

Cheers!
