10th April 2023 - Another day in Paradise

Thought for the day :"Sadly we’ve lost some of our local businesses recently, The candle maker has snuffed it
(thanks Ian Scott)

Crimson Moon Easter weekend - day 4!

The weather forecast was to be really bad and we have little anticipation of getting many customers.
In fact our first customer was there at midday - okay he was looking for an off sale. He had a big Demijohn with him and wanted 8 pints of beer to take away, but he also brought us a nice box of pint glasses which were all crown marked which was nice.

We then hand another couple come in who wanted to walk around the gardens and hadn't had a chance of the day before.  By 1 pm we had real customers and the weather held for all the afternoon and into the evening with only the occasional shower. It did get a bit windy so I was left with the situation of putting the umbrellas up when the rain came and then taken down quickly when the wind came.

Again about 50% of our customers were new to us and when it got round to about quarter past 10 we were quite ready to finish up and close. We are getting too old for this but it was still great fun!!

So the azaleas and the rhododendrons are certainly on the way out into full blossom. The pears are beginning to blossom and the cherry is  full and the magnolia is ready to come out. We have bluebells down in the bluebell glade though they're not particularly thick at the moment. The ground is very very wet in the lower quarter but the paving is working well.

Waiting for the customers

Cheers !
