9th April 2023 - Easter Egg Hunt

Thought for the day :"Sadly we’ve lost some of our local businesses recently, the TV aerial shop called in the receivers..."

Day 3 of the Crimson Moon Easter special and though the weather forecast was meant to be fairly poor it's stayed nice for us

The afternoon saw about 30 children charging around the gardens in search of Easter eggs
Susie painted all of our boiled eggs and at about 2:30 she headed off around the garden while we corralled the children in the beer garden.  Just before three o'clock we released them and within five minutes one young lady had come back with 10 eggs!!

Meanwhile the remainder seemed to be enjoying themselves

While the Hunt went on

Everybody seemed to enjoy and Susie went out for a second round taking the eggs and hiding them once again as a result we were able to give away two large Easter eggs and the gold painted egg was hidden twice.

We didn't charge to enter the Easter egg hunt it was there just for fun and we were very busy during the time that we were running it indeed by the end of the evening we had managed to use at least half of the third cask we had sufficient bottles as fallback this occasion.

And so we were pretty busy throughout the afternoon and evening

As it was getting dust we had the unfortunate incident of one customer who was too drunk. I'm not sure but I think he possibly necked a bottle of vodka or something before coming to us because when he arrived, though he had obviously been drinking, he certainly was not drunk and  we served him his first beer, there was only one other customer present. But soo he showed himself to be worse for wear and that led to him not wanting to leave, me not wanting to serve him, and in the end he started getting aggressive.  I was able to manage the aggression and he went sadly from being violent to be very tearful, crying in the corridor and then he wondered off and tried to go to sleep in one of our flower beds!

It was now dark and cold and rain was coming down and so I found myself in a situation where I had to  put a call  into the police.  We had a response within 40 or 50 minutes, which pleased me for a bank holiday Sunday  with two cars attending and they helped him and took him home.

Lost about 2 and a half hours during the evening,  and we had plenty of customers there by that time.
We got back to enjoying the evening and instead of finishing at 10 it was about quarter to 12 when we realized that it was time to shut up

Still the rest of us had a good evening

Also had this photo taken which I am rather pleased with

Cheers !
