I remember visiting Glastonbury for year after year and seeing a little stall where little metal boats went poop pooping around the front of the counter - and I never really understood the technology behind them .. Today I found this little video on Youtube and thought I would keep it here for posterity - in case I decide to make one some day ...
Making a poop poop boat....
On other technology news, I ended up fighting British Gas again today ... You may recall my previous outing and decision to send them my blog... British Gas.. Biggest Gaffs back in October...
On 7th October I got a nice letter saying how concerned they were and how they would keep me updated while they sorted the problem within 7 days ...
Two months and several phones calls, including - sorry they do not work in that department after 5pm, and sorry they do not work on Saturdays and the reference is not for a business account and managing to drop my call while transferring - on five occasions !!!
Today, Claire in Complaints kindly phoned me back as requested at 4pm, to inform me that her records showed that they sent me the letter, which I received, and then followed up with an email asking what it was all about ( which I did not receive) and when they had no reply after 14 days they decided that I could not be interested in pursuing any more ??? Then why write the first letter if you are not going to follow up with a letter ???
So I shall complain about their complaints system and ask why they did not read my blog - that would have told them everything they needed to know .. I may send them this one too ...
And so I talked to the Business section . He was rather confused by the number of bills I had received - which to be fair was the reason for my complaint in the first place - I asked him to look into it and get back to me with a letter of apology and explanation ... Don't laugh - it may happen!!
I might not have to worry about heating and lighting if I had the right house... I have a Friend who wants to build herself a roundhouse - a thought I share - but recently we did look at a farm where the land sloped down sharply and we always said that we could build some hobbit holes in there - now it seems that the technology has caught up ...
Pre-fab Hobbit Holes..
Can you imagine living in a 400-square-foot tiny home that is eco-friendly and energy-efficient, yet boasts all the amenities of a conventional house? Magic Green Homes fabricates such structures using prefabricated vaulted panels and covers them with soil, creating flexible green-roofed living spaces with a Tolkienesque charm. And the kicker? They're so easy to construct, just about anyone can build one.
So what can I say other than I rather like the idea...
Portfolio here
So with those few thoughts - I sit here with a gin and tonic - that makes a change
Where did I put my reading glasses ??
