3rd April 2023 - Back to Normalcy - and Lawns Cut

Thought for the day :"When you think how big the universe is and how small we are in it – this is not that much cheese to eat"

Monday !
Signs managed to get out yesterday all around the town, and new posters now available for distribution.
Had to get some layers pellets and growers pellets and poultry mixed corn for the birds so dropped off posters at some of the local car van camps in the area - and did not realise how large some of them are!!

Used the blackboard paint to clean up the rustic signs

- and decided that as today was the first day of sun that we have had - it was time to get the John Deere going ..

I knew that the drive belt was off the rings but had not realised that there was no tension on the tension fly-wheel - and investigation showed that the main spring had broke at the end and part was hanging from the frame and the rest was in the grass.

So a trip down to Tremaine and Glan Thomas the garden machinery store and gave them a flyer for the open weekend and offered them a free drink - and apparently the son of one of the workers came to our last event wand has just bought a massive German Sword!!..
And then presented the broken spring. after a 20 minute search for the elusive "Box of springs" that has been lost they found me an old one from another machine and gave it to free of charge because it was old and rubbish!
But with some bits of chain to extend it - it seems to be working and the first cut of the year has been done .. Yay!

Almost a mechanic - as long as nothing extra goes wrong!

But some more flowers and blooms and the bluebells will definitely be out for Easter weekend..

Cheers !
