2nd July 2024 - In the lower Quarter

Thought for the day :"The best thing about the good old days is that I wasn't good and I wasn't old"

Rain

And a bit of advertising for the weekend

Mainly working in the Lower Quarter today - clearing some trees and some of the overhanging cover.
Took out a tree that Susie wanted removed so we can put a swing together between two of the Ash Die Back trees.  Then decided that my flower bed needed more light so attacked that .

But had the wine delivered today so we had another pallet to take down to the wood shed..
They sent a 30ft lorry from Owens - have to tell them to make sure that they use a small wagon next time. Had to take the tractor down with a trailer which took a while as I was cutting the lower quarter. But the lorry had no chance of getting up the lane.

Susie then wanted her Fir tree by the springs to have more light - so I took out the hazel that was overshadowing it - and also cleared the steps down to the plunge pool ...

Meanwhile Susie cleared the lower springs and also pulled up the Himalayan knot weed as apparently the strimmer only makes it proliferate more.

Still a lot to do before we open the gardens to the public on Friday.
But we will get there.

Got Susie a new tablet today as her current one is now no longer charging properly and causing all sorts of grief - so bit the bullet and went for a Samsung A9 whatever that is - but a more robust machine so I hope it will last her - in fairness the application transfer worked quite well and we have most of her apps working properly.

In other news - won £25 on premium bonds and Susie won £50 - we seem to be doing well at the moment.

Cheers !
