Another lousy wet and windy, cold day !!
Not really the sort of day to inspire you to do anything !!
But was up early as we needed to try to get a delivery of the plastic pathway grids that I had ordered.
Call by 9am to the company as they decided that they would probably send a standard 40 footer 18 ton wagon to deliver our grids..
Was not going to happen with our lane !!
So seller is informed and they say that they have the notes stating that a big wagon cannot get up here.
But the email says that if they can't get the delivery done then they will take it away and minimum £50 surcharge and additional costs for re-delivery - so I panic phone the company..
They check their notes and say that they are sure that it is okay..
Yup - Fine !!!
Luckily we have the one delivery driver with some sense and innovation.
Around 5pm I get a call on the front door - I was doing some video recording on the computer so did not see anyone coming up the lane.
The driver has parked down at the bridge and walked up - he has a 18 tonner 40ft standard pallet wagon!!!
He is quite happy though .. It is a long way but he has an electric powered pallet truck - so he happily unloads at the end of the road and then comes the 500 yards up the lane with the pallets !!
Actually had not realised how much space 100 square meters of grids would take on pallets !
It was so wet and miserable that Susie decided that she would clean the horse brasses and the copper kettles..
Had a visit from Rhys and Rosian walking their dog Bronwen around the donkey trail - so had a cup of teas
far too wet to show around the gardens - maybe next time
And a final look at the river for the evening
