7th March 2020 - On Virus, Hand washing and Generous Giving

Thought for the day :"I am swift as a gazelle. An old one, with arthritis, run over by a Landrover.. 8 days ago"

And so with panic buying all over the place - I share an image..

UK Virus ALERT

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to the recent virus threat and have therefore raised their threat level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, the level may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.”

The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out.

The virus has been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to “A Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada.

The Scots have raised their threat level from “Pissed Off” to “Let's Get the Bastard.” They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.

Australia, meanwhile, has raised its alert level from “No worries” to “She'll be alright, Mate.” Two more escalation levels remain: “Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!” and “The barbie is cancelled.” So far, no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level.

In other news Susie out of the hospital - we sprung her at 5pm last night and seems to be in good health again. Selling lots of stuff on Ebay - and posting things out today.

Off to have another look at the new house tomorrow ...

In other news there are days when I am quite proud to be part of an organisation - today is one of them ....

In London over the last couple of days - two great things have been unveiled - bought by money raised by London Freemasons - not even across the country - this is just London. the Fie engines have the highest reach on their ladders anywhere in the country and have been specially designed to deal with problems like Grenfell - these platforms are higher than Grenfell towers. they cost 2.5 millions each and the first one has been delivered - the second is on its way.

And the second items released today are two additional ambulance - fast response  - first responders

Well done!

Cheers !
