4th February 2020 - And the offer is in for Glamping...

Thought for the day :"First rule of the Passive aggressive club is… You know what – never mind. It’s Fine!"

Day 2 of the Getaway - and I have been in the pool - played pool, eaten to my fill and drunk a bit of wine (that is a technical measure - honest) and thought about a Glamping site as today the "Offers and Final Bids" had to be in and so we looked to see what we could arrive at.

The bid is in now - if it is not enough it was not meant to be ....

Text of the bid - for posterity :

Dear Sir,
Cwm ty Coed – Carmarthen – Best And Final Offers

Thank you for your notification regarding the above address.
My wife and I have viewed the property and would like to place a bid with regard to the purchase.

  1. Iain Weston Sewell & Susan Jane Sewell.
    41 New Road, Llanelli, Carms. SA15 3DP
    07914 810080
    iain@pigsmayfly.co.uk
  2. We would wish to offer the asking price of £395,000
  3. We are happy to negotiate up to an additional £35,000 for the purchase of the business to include current equipment required for running the existing business
  4. We have an agreed offer for a property at 16 Hengistbury Road, Barton on Sea, BH25 7LU, listed at £445,000 awaiting final conveyancing, so finance is available, indeed we are willing to move to an offer for the full price for immediate contract, but understand that your clients wish to complete later in the year. After consideration we are willing to consider later completion, but finance is available at an earlier time.
  5. We do not require additional finance and are able to proceed without mortgage, chain or other financing.
  6. Our offer is not subject to survey or independent valuation.
  7. We are willing to proceed from an early date – but after discussion have decided that the vendor’s choice of end of season would suit a structured transfer of property and business.
  8. Additional Information:
My wife and I have been actively involved in similar customer-based venture for the last 17 years, managing and maintaining a Live Roleplay and Reenactment Marquee/ Tavern business throughout the country.        (www.crimson-moon.co.uk)
Our wish is to have smallholding and maintain links with our previous customers. We are well experienced in most areas surrounding camping / glamping and leisure activities.
We have the finance available, and as we are living locally and currently retired, if successful we would welcome the opportunity of working alongside the vendors in a voluntary capacity to learn the details of the current business model to ensure a smooth transition.
The vendors may consider this advantageous in providing additional casual labour for no cost. We currently reside 20 minutes away from the property and could make ourselves available as convenient to the Vendor.
Should the vendor wish to proceed at an earlier date than end of season, we are willing to consider covering the expected profits for the remainder of the season – subject to negotiation.
As a retired Police Chief Inspector (Dyed-Powys Police) I currently receive both occupational and state pension, providing a basic income outside any future business requirements.
We hope that these factors may assist in the choice of preferred partner.
In the event that we are unsuccessful we would like to congratulate the vendors upon all the work that they have achieved at this site – a task that we would hope to emulate elsewhere.
