10th February 2025 - In search of a Phone for Susie

Spent time heading down to Carmarthen to find Susie a new phone and a decent monthly payment.

Gone for a three year agreement for paying for the phone and sim only.  Cost going up from £15 to £20 but new phone for her, and it should phone VOIP which should improve her connectivity.

Took most of the day as the road is closed at the end of the road - hopefully for BT Openreach for the High Speed fibre connections 

In other news some daffodils are out locally but not with us yet - these are under the Magnolia 

Ground still very wet 

Maybe will get out to do more tomorrow

Other jobs today - Cancelled RAC  due end of February - and not needed as already have cover through the Police Federation.

Arranged with Specsavers for replacement of contact lenses to the new prescription - awaiting a call when they are available in the store

Called Octopus to check that they have me on the correct tariff which apparently I am though the website states otherwise - I will check the next bill and see.

Also enquired about the new smart meter and whether it will work without a mobile signal. 

Initially was going to have the meter changed tomorrow but called an put it off until after the switch off in June - the issue is that the overnight tariff is based upon old technology where a long wave radio signal from the BBC is used to switch the meter from day to night... The transmissions are stopping in June 2025

Bought Coal and Poultry Corn ..

Had a cup of tea and some fresh Ginger Cake - that is enough for one day !
