Thought for the day :"I'm learning bell ringer. It's my first day, so they'll just be showing me the ropes."
Another month passes and we have had a lot of very hot weather in the last few weeks.
Amazingly our little valley on the river is staying remarkably green (it is a Green One!)
and the weeds seem to be able to grow just as fast.
But this month has seen us develop a little more of the garden area - I managed to get the John Deer down to the lower quarter (and got her stuck, and slipped into the spring and had to put the drive belt back on and found that there is a pressure switch under the bonnet which stops the engine - it is all a learning curve.)
This was also a month where I did a mammoth trip to Germany 40 hours one way - 36 return !!
So it was a time for Susie to be on her own.
Had the roof repainted and repaired.
Planted lost more colour plants as the blaze of colour in the spring was a little more shrouded at this time of year. And Susie's planting from seeds has brought a huge amount of colour.
We are ready to open the Tavern for the third time - this time in aid of the RNLI.
We had a little rain today - not much but enough to make it refreshing - hoping for a dry weekend as the rain kept a lot of people away last month.
Getting ready to greet my sister and brother in law from Phoenix - so looking forward to showing them around our little corner of West Wales.
I managed to strim the pontoon, front of house and finish the pathways that Susie had started. She has been doing her big spring clean and between us both we re-arranged the sewing room to make it into another bedroom for visitors (family). The hand held Bosch rechargeable strimmer is idea for light work . Probably need to get the big one out tomorrow for the island and some of the lower pathways.
Ordered the beer from a new Brewery- Cardigan not being able to meet the requirement, and also ordered some more mead and wines from Lyme Bay.
Quite a busy day -
Cheers !
