This is a first pass at LARP options for next year.

These are all events that I have attended (and used to have the Crimson Moon) so I am aware of the game play and would recommend as a good example of UK LARP.

A - C are Larger Fest systems

A has large battles and is 4 day event - while B and C are more into skirmishes and a lot of Roleplay.

UK LARP is very responsive to plot and you can get very involved in the storyline and have a good impact.

These events are self catering - but food concessions are available on site.

There is Out of Character Camping (OT Camping) and game play is 10am to 2am daily.

Archeaus is a new system - only 2 years but has a very nice family structure, simple rules and is catered.

Also there are indoor dormitory style sleeping arrangements - bring a sleeping bag and pillow and a sword...

There are less players but it is popular with monster crews.

Based upon Necrobiology - using fungus to animate bodies and fight necromancers and undead - usual sort of stuff.

There are others available but I know them a little less...

These seemed to fit into the May June July time stream

August is Mythodea - and this year Susie and I are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary so I am bringing her to Mythodea and then we are traveling on to Austria where we had our honeymoon.

As a result August is pretty tied up.

Events later into Spetember would start the faction events - group events for 100 or so players

Event A is near London and options may be for flight to London airports and we could collect

Events B & C are in the midlands - about an hour and a half from Birmingham Airport

Archeaus is Bristol area and Bristol airport could also be an option.

Have a look at your options for flights...

I found them to be very expensive when I tried to get out to Germany last August - why I went with Flixbus in the end

Also found trains to be poor value...

It is a long way to come by car though...

I can collect from Cardiff Airport (2hours by car)

Also from Bristol (2hrs 45m)

I do both of these quite often and these are quite doable...

You may find an option for flying to one airport and back to another. the cheaper flights can sometimes be better to change routes.

Whichever way you decided - we are really looking forward to seeing you and hosting you while you are here.

For budget purposes - consider that you are our guests for everything while you are at the house with us...

Obviously - LARP event costs will be down to yourselves...

I shall attend any event that you are looking at and therefore can take you and bring you back - though I can swing a staff ticket for working the bar and entertainment as I used to run the bars - can't offer for yourselves sadly ...

Let me know your thoughts

Also willing to have a zoom or messenger video call when you have had a look at the options

Keep safe

Iain
