13th August 2022 - Rescuing the John Deere

Thought for the day :"First rule of Music while cleaning – the toilet brush is NEVER a microphone!"

Another day for (almost) adulting...

The day started with the Community Cafe in the local Village Hall...  and a bacon sandwich and passing a few flyers around for the opening next weekend.

The cafe is well attended these days and the £2 bacon roll and tea and a quick raffle is a nice touch for the village and for me.

Only two hours - but then it was time to put some signs out for the weekend.

Back to the homestead and the real task ahead.

The John Deere stuck in the lower quarter.

Did the Battery Check, the solenoid check, the starter check and they all work fine, but the machine would not fire up and start - which was very annoying as it meant that I had exhausted the whole repertoire of my skills - so the next task was to get the mower to the machinery repair shop.

Ans that was a big task as it was impossible to push the mower it is just too heavy.

And so the options had to be looked at.

And that meant trying the caterpillar track to tow it out - which also had some real challenges - as it was difficult to pull in one direction.

Suffice to say - after a few hours of work, towing backwards and forwards and with the occasional use of winches from the marquee days we have finally got the John Deere up to the Beer garden and in a position to pull it out to the road - so we have an opportunity to get it fixed in the week ..

Susie has been planting some flowers in the beds so we have some colour - went to the Nursery for our anniversary - we are so Jesse and Doris these days - bought two little elves to go into fairy town - hope they are settling down okay ...

So - the day finishes better than it started - there is light at the end of the tunnel and probably not a train coming the other way.

But the flyer is out for the Summer Fest

Cheers !
