Secret Monitor - Past Master's Conclave in Carmarthen this morning. Probably the worst meal I have had int eh Ivy Buch for a long time. We went into the room at 1pm - and were still waiting at almost a quarter past when the sec went to the kitchen to ask what was happening. The butter was chopped into little squares and after 4 of the brethren had buttered their rolls I had to go out and ask for some more... and then they gave a measly half plate of more little squares. THEN they started plating up the food - it was only cold meat and salad for goodness sake.. and very small portions at that. And the Potatoes came out - unpeeled of course - but without any butter, so I asked for more butter again... Chopped cucumber, chopped tomato, sliced beetroot and no-one knew why there was mayonaise there - until half way through the meal some rocket was brought out - not very keen on rocket - prefer lettuce myself!!
Of course the top table was served last - and after we finished the main course we waited another 10 minutes for clearing and again for the sweet. Cheese cake was pretty good - then coffee and another wait for someone to get me tea...
And this two course meal cost £14.50 - the glass of wine was £6.95 and a pint of Fosters was £3.90..
Not sure I will dine there again ... Need to look for alternatives to get value for money ..

So - I shall have some cheese and biscuits this evening I think - may be hungry by that time ..
