Thought for the day :"I'm birdwatching with Sinead O'Connor. So far it's been seven owls and fifteen jays."
Wet
So, the tractor has had a loose deck band for a while but over the last few days it has got so it unusable
So today I did a little adulting - well the first part at least
I managed to drop the deck and remove it so I could get to the deck drive belt and remove it
Not the easiest thing and not really helped by youTube which had a number of similar but not quite the same models of the John Deere
But we got there with some proper tools that I managed to find in the shed - having put them away last time in the right place - Go Me !!
Trip to Tremaine and they didn't have any off the shelf belts for me so on to Grow It Mow It and to be fair they once again came out tops.. giving a lot of advice and looking up all the plans for the tractor X304, and then finding that there were two models - one British and one foreign (unspecified)
Seems that the main belt drive is three meters long and mine was only 2 meters long which confused a lot.
But having found the right part - at the cost of £176 plus VAT !!
But in fairness he looked up EBay and found it for cheaper and gave me the part number and details.
So Susie has found it this evening and hopefully it will be with us by the weekend - though we are open in the Tavern so it will not get fixed until next week ..
But put the street lights up today and the bunting - may need to get some more bunting - there are gaps.
Susie not well again today with pains over most of her body - thought of possible Covid, but showing negative on our expired 2024 testing kits .. so we can't really tell. It is possible I brought something back with being affected myself. Jan and Iris were in bed for a week with flu apparently
Did a little more work on the "Darkside of the Crimson Moon" plans ..
Cheers
