Thought for the day :""Look Holmes,- a 12 inch high Monopoly set!"
"Come Watson, the game's afoot!"
And so to the Saga of Bonnie
(To the tune of "My Bonnie flew over the Ocean ♪♫"
Some 25 years ago while holidaying in Phoenix Arizona with Chrissie and Paul (sister and brother in law) Susie and I stopped off at a remote store in the middle of nowhere, and had a mooch around (as you do).

While there our attention was drawn to a Deer Head with the saddest look on its face and it called to us to rescue it from the torment that it was suffering. Well, we sort of fell in love with her (turns out to be a 'him' but that is another story) ..
With the rudimentary form of googling back in those days, we checked to see whether we could bring it back or send by post and it appeared that the size would allow us to get her back at no great charge and the cost of the head was reasonable so we went back and bought it...
I remember asking the lady at he store which was the quickest route back to Phoenix, and she pointed North and said "take the next left and follow the road". She didn't mention that fact that the next left was 78 miles away.
Anyway, having got back to the house we started trying to find a postage system that would accept the head - and failed ..
We worked hard to find a way - but then we had to return home and so Bonnie, for so she was named, ended up in the Garage in Phoenix, in the heat!! - but it is a Dry heat!
Turn the clock forward 25 years, and Chrissie is desperately clearing her house ready for sale and there is still a Deer Head in the loft area of the garage - a little the worse for wear - but still with sad expression.
In fairness, they succeeded where we had failed. By the removal of the antlers and by putting two boxes together, they managed to get her into a box that "just about) met the airline's cargo specification, and decided to bring the box over as "extra Luggage"
Needless to say - everyone who enquired has been told the tale of Bonnies journey!
And so, arrival at Heathrow.
And yesterday was the Great unboxing....
So that was Bonnie on her return trip
Now to find a place for her in the Tavern

Cheers !
