28th March 2021 - The Game ... You Lost !!!
Thought for the day :"Burying morbidly obese people is a massive undertaking."
Are you playing "THE GAME"?
Well the answer is of course that you are, whether you know it or not
Indeed because f this - You have just lost the Game!
I shall explain ...
There are three commonly reported rules to The Game:
- Everyone in the world is playing The Game. (This is alternatively expressed as, "Everybody in the world who knows about The Game is playing The Game" or "You are always playing The Game.") A person cannot refuse to play The Game; it does not require consent to play and one can never stop playing.
- Whenever one thinks about The Game, one loses.
- Losses must be announced. This can be verbally, with a phrase such as "I just lost The Game", or in any other way: for example, via Facebook. Some people may have ways to remind others of The Game.
The definition of "thinking about The Game" is not always clear. If one discusses The Game without realizing that they have lost, this may or may not constitute a loss. If someone says "What is The Game?" before understanding the rules, whether they have lost is up for interpretation. According to some interpretations, one does not lose when someone else announces their loss, although the second rule implies that one loses regardless of what made them think about The Game. After a player has announced a loss, or after one thinks of The Game, some variants allow for a grace period between three seconds to thirty minutes to forget about the game, during which the player cannot lose the game again.
The common rules do not define a point at which The Game ends. However, some players state that The Game ends when the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom announces on television that "The Game is up."
I had not seen the rules and explanation before so thought I would share here ..
In other news it was a pretty rubbish day today - one of those with a drizzly rain most of the day = the sort that covers you without really noticing and not the sort that makes you decide that you really ought to stop what you are doing and go and sit inside with a warm fire..
Still, 'Thena and I did the "loop" around the Donkey Trail..
Found some new flowers on the way ...
Little White Things popping up in the wet ground by the river |
Primroses I think on the banks |
Multicolour |
Meanwhile, having cut all the brambles back we found that the access to the rear of the garden was now open to the road - though 'Thena had not discovered yet - it seems likely that it would not be long...
Early View though much has already been cleared |
another angle |
Interesting optical illusion - the bend suggests that the second run bends down |
In fact - the spirit level was pretty close |
One Dog-Prof area (we hope) |
In other news - a walk yesterday found the first Bluebell of the year. This one was actually at Felin Ganol - our neighbours - but was the first I have found..
Tomorrow - will be the start of the next stage of moving.. Back to Llanelli to start the final clear of 41...
27th March 2021 - day gone some where ..
Thought for the day :"Just heard that my local prosthetics shop is changing hands..."
seem to be on zoom with the Crimson Moon alcoluminati...
day gone
Cheers !

26th March 2021 - Just a Thought...
Thought for the day :"If anyone wants to come and discuss how bad my DIY skills are... My door's always open..."
Trip to Carmarthen today to change Vic's Washing
Follow on my a Tesco Shop - goodness - a year ago that would not be worthy of mention in the blog - but now - we so rarely go to a major supermarket it becomes worthy... Indeed, I was happy to not enter as it was so crowded - we are becoming acclimatized....
On to B & Q where they totally failed to find a B & Q power drill that they used to sell and find a battery that would work with it... rubbish service there !!!
Visited the Coopes - new neighbours to Wales and took them a card and bottled of wine - living near St Clears at Llangynun - hoping that they will be happy moving from Aylesbury - somehow think that they will !
Back to the homestead and dodging the rain showers did a little clearance of my Camellia corner while Susie cleared the Duck Brooder so we can start thinking about finishing clearing the shed so we can get to Llanelli !!
Tomorrow - the Stay at home and Stay Local rules change and we can travel across the country of Wales - though not across the Border... 6 people from 2 households can meet in the garden...
No pictures today so just a thought ...
Cheers !

25th March 2021 - Camellia
Thought for the day:"I decorated our lounge with a design based on pictures of small dogs... It is an all terrier motif..."
Drivee bit today - off to Lampeter to spend some money - (no change there), in a Nursery (no change there) and buy some Camellia shrubs - one for me to put outside the kitchen window where we have a bramble mass at the moment and to block out the Romany Caravan (Red) and one for Susie to put at the top of Tolly's Waterfall (white). She also managed to sneak in a few others but that was usual...
So - I spent some time clearing by the Kitchen ..
The before pictures...
And Susie about to plant her Camellia

Opticians this morning and the eye is apparently fine so just the pain and discomfort to deal with now!
Apparently the tear ducts are not working as well as they should and I need some gel to ease the eyes...
Back and enjoyed the sun today and was in shirt sleeves most of the day...
So - Job No 1 : Susie made a Gate for the Paddock....
Nice and Rustic...
