In fairness Ashley the driver (called Ian as there are two Ashleys!!) took the trouble to come up and collect it and deliver and says that he thinks the AI has been fixed - apparently DPD have an app that once you have delivered to an address it will always take you back there - so everyone was getting the wrong info - but we know where it is being sent now - to Brithdir Farm ...

So we should be alright in the future...

27th February 2023 - More DPD - and some Garden Growing

Thought for the day: "Accidentally overdosed on Viagra. Today could be the hardest day of life."

Created a bit of a fuss on paypal today by raising an issue with Appliances Direct and DPD 

Filled all their forms in and sent them the full text of the complaint email ( see previous blog) and this evening have a (probably automated) response - actually 9 responses - stating that they have to take the address shown on Paypal and can I give them an alternative address - of course I cannot as the address on Paypal is correct and it is only DPD who are unable to find us.

Part of me does not want to be bothered - but another side of me wants to get as much blood as possible!!!

But there is no pleasure in taking it out of people in call centers - they have their limitations and restrictions and I have no issue with them ...   But we still have no response from DPD - about time for another set of Trust Pilot comments I think - queue malicious action ...

But another trip to my local feed outlet in Beulah and another 5 pallets on the trailer - so there is one for the roof of the storage area and plenty for battening the tarpaulin which may arrive tomorrow 

Also Susie managed to chop our dead tree down and we managed to get the roots out and set a new barrel for the Camelia ... 

Still working on the lower quarter trying to get the hardcore accessible - but we have the tulips growing as well so that is a bonus...

26th February 2023 - DPD - the story

and DPD saga continues...

And so here are my current emails....

One: sent 16th February - My birthday - what a nice present 

25th February 2023 - DPD, Painting and Pallets

Thought for the day :"I have piles and piles of ironing to do - don't know which is the worse"

Saturday..  Saturday's are good. Actually there are 6 Saturdays a week and one Sunday when you are retired apparently. It is probably fairly right..

But today was a cold start - a frost over the grounds so I was pleased that I moved the new camellia into the shed yesterday to prevent it losing all its buds. Our existing plants are not doing well and it is possibly due to the frosts - but they should be a red and a white one.

Dogs walked - and 'Thena took off around Wyn's forestry as usual and I really must think about getting some seats to put out - but my ritual is getting better as I have little to do as I wait for her !!

And the saga of DPD continues as yesterday showed that they tried to deliver - but failed (how this can happen when they do not need to have anyone to receive but just "Take a photo of it in your entrance" 

But they still do not have a link to the APP which gives all the information that they need. 

But the message that it would be delivered on Monday now, led to an email to App Direct .. 
and lo and behold -- the delivery is now scheduled for tomorrow - Sunday !!!!
But of course there was no mention of the chosen safe place - so I posted again and it is now recorded from 10.13pm

We shall wait with baited breath for a DD van tomorrow - a DPD van in Rhydlewis ? Unlikey!  On Sunday ? No Chance !!

So back to the garden and estate .. Susie has been washing down the bedroom walls ready for painting. Seems we have some damp in the walls so trying to get back to Deri who is meant to be giving us a quote for the lyme rendering outside...  But we may have to put our fictional dehydrator to use in the house as well. The problem is that the bedrooms are not used so we do not monitor ...

Susie started culling the boys from the last brood from Sooty - but they turn out to be a little faster and sneakier than the others ...   Dinner escaped...

I did a bit with some of the pallets that we have for the new pallet storage and spend some money this evening on a heavy duty tarp for the walls and ceiling...

One more full pallet needed to complete and I am sure that I will find use for more...

23rd February 2023 - Gardens and Pallets

Up relatively early today,  the sun shining ...

Showered and walked the dogs and still back in time for an early breakfast ...

Meanwhile - Project Pallet Shed continues... 
The task is to create enough storage to clear the tunnel and workshed and another 5 pallets add to the task today - only stopped by a need to recharge the batteries for the drill

Meanwhile,  Toby enjoys the sun and makes friends with our mermaid
and daffs are out on the table
